Contract, part time HR Leadership role, partnering a business unit of a large, well known industrial business.
  • 9-Month fixed term contract
  • Part Time (3 days per week) | South East Melbourne
  • Salary Package $240-$250K inc super (FTE)

  • The Organisation
    The role sits within a well-established international industrial group with a portfolio of highly recognised brands and a reputation for quality, innovation and customer focus. While the broader organisation employs several thousand people globally across multiple business units, this contract appointment supports a business unit operating across Australia, New Zealand and international markets, employing around 500 people across sales, manufacturing and distribution.

    Supported by HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence, this role sits on both the People + Culture and business unit leadership teams. The role will be recruited as a 9 month contract, part time, 3 days per week.

    The Opportunity
    Operating within a complex, matrixed and multi-market environment, the Head of People + Culture is a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing expertise across workplace relations, leadership and talent, performance, engagement and inclusion, while leveraging the broader P+C team for specialist and operational support.

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Leading the People, Culture & Change strategy aligned to the organisation’s commercial agenda.
    • Driving organisational alignment through operating model design, change initiatives and effective ways of working.
    • Leading talent, succession and capability development strategies.
    • Overseeing industrial relations strategy and employee relations matters.
    • Managing key people processes including performance, remuneration and talent management.
    About You
    You will bring:
    • Extensive HR generalist experience, preferably in a fast-paced, complex & matrixed business environment
    • Experience partnering at Executive level
    • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect the people strategy with commercial outcomes
    • Proven ability to balance the delivery of long-term strategic imperatives whilst remaining connected to the operational needs of the business
    • Sound working knowledge of employee relations legislation and ability to oversee EA negotiations.
    • Experience within industrial, manufacturing or operational environments will be highly regarded.
