HR Manager
HR Manager
Great opportunity to make an impact in enhancing the HR function and elevating capability across the organisation.
Are you a commercially minded HR leader who thrives on building capability, shaping culture, and partnering with senior leaders to drive performance?
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to work closely with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team (Finance, Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and Sales) to elevate organisational performance and leadership capability.
About the role
Reporting directly to the MD and partnering closely with the Senior Leadership Team (Finance, Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and Sales), this standalone HR Manager will be responsible for building high-performing teams and instilling a strong culture of leadership and accountability. The role will focus on coaching and developing managers to lead effectively, facilitating difficult conversations, and clearly defining what “good” looks like across all roles. A key objective in the first six months will be to uplift overall capability—measured in part by improving average end-of-year performance review scores—while enhancing self-awareness and ownership of performance standards throughout the organisation.
This is a hands-on yet strategic position. While HR systems and policies are in place (including Employment Hero) and administrative support is available, the successful candidate must be willing to immerse themselves in the business, understand operational realities, and introduce structure, frameworks, and discipline to elevate the HR function beyond its current state.
About you
The ideal candidate is a senior HR leader with strong coaching capability and a demonstrated ability to influence and develop leadership teams. The successful individual will be proactive, commercially minded, and confident in contributing strategic input—rather than waiting for direction—while maintaining the credibility to operate as a true partner to the SLT.
Culturally, the organisation is seeking someone who can shift perceptions of HR from compliance-driven to development-focused, fostering engagement, accountability, and constructive performance conversations. A partnership mindset, emotional intelligence, and the ability to challenge constructively are essential. Candidates who are purely transactional or unwilling to engage at a strategic level will not be suited to this opportunity.
Initially a 12-month contract, part time or full time working arrangements considered.
This role presents itself as a great opportunity to make a visible, organisation-wide impact, shape leadership capability and cultural direction as well as transforming the HR function to deliver high-value, performance-driven capability.
