Are you looking to join a high-profile, medium-sized organisation that delivers projects of national significance and lasting impact for communities across Australia? Our client is seeking an experienced HRIS Specialist to play a key role in supporting our People & Culture team.
This is an initial contract role with scope to extend or go permanent, offering a Sydney CBD location, with flexibility to work from home.
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated HRIS Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our small, collaborative HR team. You will be the go-to specialist for the ELMO HR suite, ensuring the system is maintained with accuracy, optimised for efficiency, and embedded seamlessly into everyday HR operations.
This is a hands-on role — perfect for an experienced HRIS specialist with ELMO expertise, who enjoys being close to the detail, ensuring system integrity, producing meaningful reports, and driving continuous improvement.
This position will see you being responsible for:
- System Administration: Maintain, and troubleshoot the ELMO HRIS to ensure reliability, accuracy, and a seamless user experience across all modules.
- Data Integrity & Reporting: Manage HR data quality, generate and validate operational and compliance reports, and deliver actionable insights that inform decision-making.
- Continuous Optimisation: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve functionality, and enhance user adoption across the full ELMO suite.
- BAU HR Support: Act as the HRIS specialist within the People & Culture team, embedding new modules and functionalities into everyday processes.
- Stakeholder Support: Partner with HR colleagues, managers, and external providers to troubleshoot issues, train users, and implement solutions that add value.
We’re seeking a practical, detail-oriented HRIS professional who thrives in a hands-on role and enjoys system administration, reporting, and optimising HR processes. You will bring:
- Proven expertise with ELMO systems – advanced administration, configuration, and optimisation experience is essential.
- Analytical capability – strong skills in producing and validating HR data, metrics, and reports within a HR environment.
- Process mindset – ability to identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and enhance HR operations through smarter use of systems.
- Hands-on approach – comfortable balancing administration with stakeholder support and system optimisation.
- Collaborative style – able to work effectively in a small HR team, share knowledge, and provide training to system users.
- Experience supporting BAU HR operations in a medium-to-large organisation.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and comfort managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
