Location: Northern Suburbs (site-based)
$145,000 – $155,000 + Super (pro rata)
We are partnering with a large, well-established organisation in the transport and infrastructure services sector , currently undergoing a period of meaningful transformation and growth.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Business Partner to step into a 6-month contract , supporting a significant and diverse workforce during a period of change.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the GM - Human Resources, this role partners closely with senior leaders across Operations, Commercial & Planning, and Technology , supporting approximately half of the organisation’s workforce . The environment is fast-paced, operationally focused, and highly stakeholder-driven - ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the business and adding value through practical, outcomes-focused HR.
This role suits an HRBP who is confident operating with a high level of autonomy, able to manage competing priorities, and who values working as part of a collaborative, values-led HR team.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to deliver pragmatic people solutions aligned to operational and strategic priorities.
- Coach and support frontline leaders to build capability and consistency in people management.
- Lead complex employee and industrial relations matters within a unionised environment.
- Manage case work including performance, grievances, change consultations, and conflict resolution.
- Act as a trusted advisor on HR best practice across performance, engagement, workforce planning, and organisational design.
- Support people-related projects including policy uplift, systems improvement, and DE&I initiatives.
- Collaborate with HR peers across talent acquisition, HR operations, and transformation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, EBAs, and internal policies.
You are an experienced, commercially minded HR Business Partner who thrives in operational, blue-collar-heavy environments and is comfortable working at pace.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in a generalist HRBP role.
- Strong employee and industrial relations capability (union experience highly regarded).
- Experience supporting blue-collar or frontline workforces (e.g. transport, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare).
- Confidence managing complex case work and change processes independently.
- Solid knowledge of Australian employment law and Fair Work processes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset with a collaborative working style.
- Comfort using HR systems and data to inform decision-making.
- Experience in 24/7, multisite or regulated environments.
- Exposure to rostering or time & attendance systems.
- A genuine interest in inclusion, equity, and removing barriers in operational workforces.
- Values-led, safety- and service-focused culture.
- Site-based role to enable strong stakeholder engagement.
- Supportive, capable HR team with a strong transformation agenda.
- Immediate start preferred.
