  • People Business Partner – Building & Operations (18-Month Parental Leave Cover)

    Join a leading Australian business delivering large-scale building and operations solutions across multiple sites. The company is known for its operational excellence, safety focus, and high-performing site teams, supporting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

    We’re seeking a People Business Partner to support the Building & Operations portfolio, working with ~200 employees, including site managers and trades teams. This role is data- and operations-focused, combining workforce planning, metrics analysis, and employee relations expertise to help managers deliver results, maintain compliance, and foster a safe, high-performing culture.

    Key responsibilities:
    • Provide strategic and operational HR advice to managers and leaders, including workforce planning, performance management, and team structuring
    • Manage employee relations cases, conduct investigations, and support managers through complex ER situations
    • Analyse HR metrics to provide actionable insights that drive operational and cultural improvements
    • Partner with leadership to develop solutions aligned to business strategy, including talent development and succession planning
    • Advise on restructures, critical hires, and recruitment strategy for key roles
    • Support site managers and teams to embed company values, safety culture, and operational excellence
    • Collaborate with L&D to identify training needs and evaluate development programs
    What we’re looking for:
    • Strong HR and ER knowledge, including Awards, Agreements, and employment legislation
    • Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases and providing guidance to operational teams
    • High level of data literacy: able to interpret metrics and translate insights into practical actions
    • Strong consulting and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence leaders at all levels
    • Hands-on, “roll-up-sleeves” approach to supporting managers in a fast-paced, operational environment
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
    • Comfortable working across multiple sites and balancing competing priorities
    • Degree-qualified or near completion in a relevant discipline
    • Previous experience in building, construction, trades, or multi-site operational environments is desirable but not essential
    This is an 18-month parental leave cover with a competitive salary (~$142k + super)

    Salary Range:

    $140000 - $150000
