Tandem Partners are excited to be representing an established, values-led mid-tier accounting firm who are seeking an experienced People & Culture Manager to take ownership of its people agenda.
This is a standalone role suited to a confident HR generalist who enjoys being close to the business — balancing hands-on operational work with meaningful people strategy. You’ll partner closely with a collaborative leadership group in a partnership-style environment, where trust, influence and strong relationships are key.

The Opportunity
Reporting into the leadership group, you will:
- Own end-to-end HR operations in a standalone capacity
- Partner with leaders on performance management, coaching and everyday people matters
- Lead talent attraction initiatives, including reviewing recruitment practices, graduate and early career programs, and direct sourcing approaches
- Help shape and articulate the firm’s EVP and employer brand
- Support leadership capability and diversity initiatives, with a particular focus on developing and supporting female talent
- Act as a trusted advisor at the leadership table, able to challenge constructively when needed
What we’re looking for
- Solid experience in a broad HR generalist or People & Culture role
- Comfort working autonomously and influencing senior stakeholders
- Ideally background in professional services (accounting, legal or similar)
- A practical, hands-on mindset — happy to balance operational work with strategic projects
- Strong judgement, warmth, and the ability to build trust quickly
- Flexible part-time role: 3–4 days minimum (approx. 30 hours/week)
- Open to 4–5 shorter days for the right person
- CBD-based office with a preference for regular in-person presence to build relationships
- Hybrid flexibility available (typically 2–3 days in office depending on hours)
