Stand-alone hands on HR & Safety role supporting organisational stability, compliance, and culture for a community focused NfP.
People & Safety Partner
People & Safety Partner
Our client is a values-led, community-focused organisation entering a period of transition and renewal. With a small employee size, the organisation operates a mix of service delivery, operational facilities, and community programs. This is an environment that balances purpose with practicality, where people are at the centre, and strong HR and safety practices underpin everything they do.
About the Role:
This is a standalone, end-to-end People & Safety Partner position, reporting directly to the CEO and part of the Senior Leadership Team. It’s a broad, operationally focused generalist role responsible all HR and WHS activities across the organisation, from recruitment and contracts to all HR and safety compliance and wellbeing.
You’ll provide guidance and hands-on support across all facets of the employee lifecycle while maintaining the organisation’s safety systems and culture. It’s a stabilising role with an emphasis on practical execution, coaching, and trust-building. The HR function is well established, so this will be maintaining high standards of service delivery whilst driving continuous improvement in HR and WHS processes and supporting a positive team culture.
This position suits someone who enjoys variety, visibility, and influence — someone comfortable moving between compliance detail and autonomously resolving all HR and people matters.
About You:
You’re a capable and approachable HR generalist with a solid grounding in WHS. You’re at your best in dynamic, hands-on environments where communication, collaboration, and discretion are key. You are strong with coaching and supporting leaders in a values driven organisation. You don’t just tick boxes — you bring an organised, open-door, and highly visible grounded HR approach and trust to a complex community-first driven organisation.
You’ll bring:
- 5+ years’ HR generalist experience with WHS exposure.
- Sound understanding of employment legislation, safety systems, and HR compliance.
- Experience managing recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, training, and recordkeeping.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and support managers.
- Confidence working autonomously in a small but varied organisation.
- Able to balance community needs with commercial pragmatism.
- Flexibility approach from administrative duties to consulting with executive and senior leaders, to support an organisation in transition.
- Full-time fixed-term contract to June 2026 (potential for extension).
- On-site role with flexible start/finish options.
- Free onsite parking and staff wellbeing perks.
- Could be offered 0.8 of a week (4 days per week) for the right candidate.
- Working with Children Check and Criminal History Clearance required.
If you are confident that your experience reflects the above criteria, please apply online.
