About the Opportunity
A national leader in freight and logistics is seeking an experienced Senior Employee Relations/Industrial Relations Lead to join its dynamic team. With a long-standing presence in the port services and logistics sector, this organisation supports essential supply chains across Australia and New Zealand.
As a key member of the People & Culture leadership team, you’ll partner directly with senior operational leaders to deliver strategic and hands-on ER/IR outcomes across a multi-site, unionised, blue-collar workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support enterprise bargaining agreement (EBA) processes from end to end, including collaboration with the Fair Work Commission and internal executive stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, offering coaching and guidance on ER/IR matters.
- Support the development and implementation of ER/IR strategy, contingency plans and processes.
- Manage complex employee relations matters, including dispute resolution and investigations.
- Provide accurate interpretation of industrial instruments, awards, and legislation.
- Liaise with external legal advisors on high-risk or complex employment matters.
- Monitor changes in employment law and industrial trends to ensure compliance and proactive risk management.
You are a confident, solutions-focused ER/IR professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced industrial environments. You combine deep knowledge of employment law with strong business acumen and relationship-building skills.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading EBA negotiations in blue-collar environments (e.g. logistics, manufacturing, maritime, construction, or transport).
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
- A proactive and resilient mindset, capable of managing high-volume, high-stakes issues.
- Willingness to travel to operational sites as needed.
