Our client is a global leader in the consumer services and insurance tech space, backed by one of the world’s largest insurance groups. With offices across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific they’ve recently expanded into the Australian market and are experiencing rapid growth. Their customer base includes major retailers and household names and they’re known for their inclusive, collaborative, and forward-thinking culture.
As the most senior HR presence in Australia, you’ll play a critical role in supporting a growing team of 40 employees, helping to integrate a recent acquisition and shape the employee experience across the region.
Reporting to the Global Senior Director of People & Culture (UK-based) and working closely with the local Managing Director, you’ll be a trusted advisor to leaders and a hands-on generalist across the full employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver end-to-end HR support for the Australian team, including onboarding, employee relations, performance and engagement.
- Partner with global HR peers to localise and implement people programs and systems (Workday rollout).
- Support the integration of newly acquired employees and foster a unified, inclusive culture.
- Provide pragmatic, balanced advice to leaders and act as a sounding board for people-related decisions.
- Identify and lead local HR projects that enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with HR peers across APAC and Europe to share knowledge and provide regional support.
- Significant experience in HR, ideally in fast-paced, global, or tech-enabled environments.
- Strong generalist background with experience across the full employee lifecycle.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Experience in start-ups, insurance, financial services or software companies is highly regarded.
- Calm, pragmatic and people-focused approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
