Critical health, safety, quality and environment role in a high-risk industrial setting | Compliance, audit, DG & MHF exposure

  • Tandem Partners are delighted to be partnering with a well-established industrial business to recruit a Senior OHSQE Coordinator for their site in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs .

    The opportunity:
    Working on-site within a complex, high-risk operational environment, this role is central to ensuring ongoing compliance with WorkSafe, EPA, NHVR and other relevant regulatory bodies. You’ll lead audit processes, support safety investigations, and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the organisation’s Business Management System (BMS).

    This is a senior-level individual contributor role that plays a key part in driving compliance and safety performance. You’ll work across multiple operational sites and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders in operations and HR, as well as engage with external regulators and accreditation bodies.

    You will bring:

    • A Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (mandatory)
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to engage regulators and internal teams
    • Experience with:
      • Incident investigations, audits, and risk assessments
      • Dangerous Goods (DG), MHF or high-risk industry compliance
      • Regulatory frameworks such as NHVR, EPA, and WorkSafe
    • A proactive and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to lead by example and coach junior team members
    • Prior experience in transport, logistics, industrial services, or chemical/hazardous goods industries will be highly regarded
    • Solid computer literacy across Google and Microsoft platforms
    This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. The salary is circa $115K + super , depending on experience. Some travel between sites and participation in emergency response or after-hours responsibilities may be required.
