  • This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, trusted Industrial & Employee Relations role within a large, complex and unionised organisation navigating significant transformation.

    Partnering closely with leaders across the business, you’ll play a critical role in managing high‑risk ER matters, supporting enterprise bargaining, and guiding the people aspects of major change initiatives. This role suits someone who brings sound judgement, calm influence and a pragmatic, human approach to complex ER and IR challenges.

    The Opportunity

    Reporting into a senior Employee Relations leader, you will operate as a subject matter expert across a broad and interesting ER/IR portfolio. Your work will span advisory, investigations, bargaining and strategic change, with genuine exposure to senior stakeholders.
    Key elements of the role include:
    • End‑to‑end management of complex employee relations matters, including misconduct, investigations and terminations
    • Leading high‑risk and sensitive workplace investigations requiring sound judgement and discretion
    • Supporting enterprise bargaining activities, from strategy and negotiations through to implementation and compliance
    • Advising on ER and IR risk during major organisational change, including restructures and business transformations
    • Providing pragmatic, commercially grounded advice to leaders on employment law, policy and employee issues
    • Representing the organisation in employment tribunals as required
    • Contributing to the governance and continuous improvement of employment contracts and ER frameworks
    • Building strong relationships across the business, unions and external stakeholders
    This is a role where your ability to influence, coach and guide leaders will be just as important as your technical expertise.

    About You


    You’re an experienced ER/IR professional who is comfortable operating in complexity and ambiguity. You combine strong technical capability with empathy, credibility and commercial awareness.
    You’ll likely bring:
    • 5+ years’ experience in employee and industrial relations within large, complex or unionised organisations
    • Strong working knowledge of the Australian employment law framework
    • Experience supporting enterprise bargaining and managing union relationships
    • A proven track record handling sensitive, high‑risk ER matters and investigations
    • Confidence influencing and advising senior leaders in challenging situations
    • Excellent communication, negotiation and mediation skills
    • A degree in law, business, HR, employee or industrial relations (or equivalent experience)
    Exposure to advocacy in the Fair Work Commission, mediator qualifications or project management experience will be well regarded.
