ER Business Partner
Employee Relations Business Partner - high-volume case management in complex, meaningful environment.
This role sits within a People and Culture team in a large, complex organisation and is responsible for delivering end‑to‑end employee relations support. The focus is on managing complex and sensitive cases within a predominantly unionised environment, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to manage risk and ensure fair and consistent outcomes.
You will operate as a subject matter expert in employee relations, supporting the organisation through investigations, dispute resolution, and industrial processes. The role requires sound judgement, resilience, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a high‑volume case environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage complex employee relations cases from intake through to resolution
- Conduct investigations into complaints, grievances, and conduct matters
- Prepare clear, well-structured investigation reports and recommendations
- Support matters that may escalate to external bodies or formal proceedings
- Provide advice on enterprise agreements and industrial frameworks
- Partner with stakeholders to manage risk and ensure fair, consistent outcomes
- Coach leaders and colleagues on employee relations processes and best practice
- Contribute to policy, process and capability development initiatives
- Strong experience in employee relations, including end‑to‑end case management
- Proven investigation capability and report writing skills
- Sound knowledge of employment law and industrial relations
- Experience working in a unionised or highly regulated environment
- Strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
