Tandem Partners is pleased to be partnered with the City of Casey to appoint a Head of Business Partnering, a pivotal leadership role within the People & Culture function that reports to the Chief People Officer. This role leads the Business Partnering function, ensuring our workforce, talent, culture and change approaches are strategically aligned to organisational priorities and capable of responding effectively to evolving workforce conditions.

The Role
The Head of Business Partnering is an enterprise leader responsible for delivering end-to-end strategic and operational business partnering across the City of Casey. Success in the role requires deep strategic workforce planning capability, and the ability to lead, teach and build capability, —within the Business Partnering team and across the organisation.
- Lead and mature a Strategic Business Partnering function that delivers proactive and consistent ways of working across all portfolios.
- Establish clear partnering standards, ways of working and expectations for Business Partners and the business
- Translate strategy, budgets and service plans into clear workforce and capability priorities
- Act as a trusted advisor to Executive and senior leaders on complex people, performance and change matter
- Build leadership capability and accountability through coaching, guidance and structured framework
- Partner closely with People Operations and Centres of Excellence as part of a tiered People Services model transformation.
This leadership role has genuine scope to shape how people partnering supports a large, diverse organisation. Your success will be measured on how you develop capability both within the Business Partnering team and across the business.
Please note that whilst flexibility and hybrid working is available, the ideal candidate will be willing to be on site regularly to engage with the leadership teams. Please expect 2-3 days as a regular cadence.
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organisational Psychology or Business; a master’s degree is highly regarded.
- Broad, cross industry HR experience with the ability to apply contemporary market best practice in a complex organisational context.
- Proven experience leading HR Business Partnering team(s) or an equivalent strategic partnering function.
- Demonstrated capability delivering enterprise level people outcomes within large, complex or regulated organisations.
- Sound employee and industrial relations judgement, with the ability to manage complex matters (deep specialisation not required).
- A broad HR skillset, including experience in organisation design and talent management.
- Demonstrated experience building workforce and leadership capability at scale.
