This is a rare opportunity to step into a high‑impact leadership role within a business known for long‑standing success, strong brand heritage and ongoing innovation. The role is suited to an HR leader who builds credibility through practical action, not policy, and who enjoys being close to the commercial and operational heartbeat of the business.
Partnering closely with the Country Manager and senior brand leaders, whilst also reporting to the Global Head of HR, you will play a pivotal role in supporting performance, driving positive change and strengthening the connection between corporate office and their national retail network.

Partnering closely with the Country Manager and senior brand leaders, whilst also reporting to the Global Head of HR, you will play a pivotal role in supporting performance, driving positive change and strengthening the connection between corporate office and their national retail network.
The Role
- Lead the end‑to‑end HR function for an Australian workforce of circa 300+ employees across a national retail network of 30 stores.
- Directly manage a small, capable HR team maintaining a highly hands‑on leadership style.
- Act as a true business partner to senior leaders, enabling outcomes across all HR domains, eg employee relations, leadership capability, engagement, talent and performance.
- Support organisational change and thoughtfully seek opportunities to add value through people programs and initiatives.
- Balance local business needs with global frameworks and expectations within a highly matrixed organisation.
- Maintain close, regular connection to retail stores and frontline leaders to identify areas for improvement and focus.
- Strong HR generalist background, with experience in the end‑to‑end ownership of a local HR function.
- Experience in specialty luxury retail or lifestyle environments.
- Commercially astute, with curiosity about how a business operates and performs.
- Comfortable operating autonomously, while navigating a matrixed global business.
- Pragmatic communication style and ability to deliver.
- Experience in global organisations, or you may have at the least worked globally before returning to Australia.
- Likely stepping up from a senior HRBP or “number two” role, or an established HR Manager who still enjoys a broad, varied HR remit.
- Melbourne‑based role – this is not a remote position
- Candidates currently based in Sydney are encouraged to apply, provided there is genuine willingness to personally relocate to Melbourne.
- This organisation has a reasonable expectation of office and store presence five days per week, balanced with flexibility when needed.
- Remuneration is a guide only. A remuneration package in the early $200's including super is on offer dependent on level of experience.
