HR/IR Compliance Consultant - Contract, 6-8 week assignment, immediate start

Support a large national organisation to audit and standardise contractor workforce arrangements during a critical systems transition.
  • Circa $85 per hour including super
  • Sydney CBD with hybrid flexibility
  • 6 to 8 week project with immediate start
  • About the Organisation:

Our client is a large, complex national organisation with a workforce of approximately 1,500 employees operating across multiple brands. The organisation is fast paced, commercially driven, and supported by a diverse mix of corporate, operational, and front line employees.

With a strong focus on governance, compliance, and operational maturity, the business is currently undergoing a period of systems uplift and process standardisation. This includes the implementation of a new HRIS platform and a broader focus on improving workforce governance and data integrity.

    About the Role:

This is a hands on, project based opportunity for an experienced HR professional to support the review and remediation of contractor and temporary workforce arrangements across the organisation.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, working closely with HR, finance, and business stakeholders, you will conduct a detailed audit of current contractor engagements, identifying inconsistencies, compliance risks, and gaps across a historically decentralised model. You will play a key role in supporting the transition to a more centralised and standardised approach aligned to system implementation.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing contractor data and arrangements, ensuring alignment with employment legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements, supporting data cleansing activities, and contributing to the development of consistent terms, conditions, and governance frameworks. This role will require a strong balance of analytical capability, stakeholder engagement, and practical delivery within a short timeframe.

This is an immediate start, full time contract, offered on an hourly rate, located in our client's Head Office in Sydney's CBD. Hybrid on offer for the right candidate, and flexible working arrangements with option for part time (3 to 4 days per week) for the right candidate.

    About You:

You are an experienced HR generalist with strong employee relations and industrial relations capability, ideally gained within complex Australian organisations. You bring a sound understanding of contractor and contingent workforce arrangements, with the ability to interpret and apply modern awards, enterprise agreements, and employment legislation.

You are comfortable working autonomously in an unstructured environment, able to gather information through audits, investigation, and stakeholder consultation, and translate this into clear, practical outcomes. Your analytical capability allows you to work through large volumes of data, identify inconsistencies, and drive data quality improvements.

You bring strong stakeholder engagement skills and are confident partnering with HR, finance, and operational leaders to influence outcomes and drive alignment. Experience working with HR systems or supporting system implementation projects will be advantageous.

    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to step into a high impact project within a large and evolving organisation, where you can apply your HR and ER IR expertise to drive meaningful improvement in workforce governance and compliance. You will work closely with experienced stakeholders and contribute to a critical phase of systems and process transformation.
