VFMC provides investment and fund management services to 32 Victorian public authorities, related organisations and the State of Victoria and manages funds of around $99 billion (as at December 2025).

The Opportunity
VFMC is looking for a hands-on senior HR generalist who can confidently partner with the business across the full employee life-cycle. This role offers real breadth and influence as it provides practical HR support and coaching to the business through both day-today and longer term people matters.
This role joins a close knit, highly productive and dynamic People team where the successful candidate will be both supported and given the autonomy to deliver the outcomes required and further develop as an HR professional.

- Acting as the dedicated People Partner
- Providing practical coaching and advice to leaders on people issues, policies and workforce matters
- Managing employee relations matters including performance, conduct and people challenges
- Leading and supporting the full employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, development and offboarding)
- Contributing to the design, implementation and improvement of people programs, policies and processes
- Driving occupational health and safety, wellness, connection and psychosocial wellbeing initiatives
- Using people data and metrics to inform decisions and improve workforce outcomes
You’re a credible, proactive and commercially minded HR generalist who enjoys being part of a strong team and working closely with the business. You bring sound judgement, a practical solutions-focus and the confidence to coach leaders through various people matters while balancing policy, compliance and employee experience.
You will likely bring:
- 10+ years senior HR generalists experience across the full employee lifecycle
- Proven business partnering experience supporting senior leaders in operational and/or a regulated environment
- Confidence managing employee relations matters
- Strong recruitment and stakeholder management capability
- Sound policy and governance capability, with the ability to interpret and apply policy appropriately
- Genuine interest and exposure in occupational health and safety and psychosocial risk
- A hands-on, adaptable, forward-thinking mindset suited to a small and productive team
