    We're recruiting for an experienced Learning & Capability Manager to build the capability, leadership and workforce development frameworks that will support the next phase of growth at a rapidly scaling business with a blue-collar, on-site workforce.  Over the past 18 months the business has grown rapidly and is now focused on building the people, leadership and workforce capability required to support the next phase of growth.

    Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will take ownership of learning and capability across a workforce of more than 600 employees, the majority of whom are site-based technical and trade professionals. This is a rare chance to create capability frameworks, leadership programs and workforce development pathways in an environment where you can genuinely shape the future rather than inherit legacy systems.

    About the Role
     
    This is a hands-on and strategic role that spans workforce capability, technical training, leadership development and future skills planning.
    You'll begin by understanding the current state of capability across the business before designing practical learning solutions that support both today's operational needs and future workforce requirements.

    Working closely with operational leaders, supervisors, project managers and executives, you'll help build a learning culture that supports growth, improves capability and creates stronger career pathways across the organisation. The aim is to design solutions that will enable the continued growth of the organisation.


    Key Responsibilities
    • Develop and deliver the organisation's learning and capability strategy.
    • Conduct capability assessments and build workforce capability frameworks.
    • Design career pathways across apprenticeships, technical training and leadership development.
    • Implement training programs for frontline leaders, supervisors and emerging leaders.
    • Manage skills matrices, training compliance, licences and qualifications.
    • Introduce digital learning tools and modern learning approaches to improve engagement and accessibility.
    • Partner with operational leaders to identify capability needs and workforce priorities and thus deliver accordingly.

    About you
    We're looking for a capable learning professional who can balance traditional capability fundamentals with a modern and future-focused approach.
    You may come from construction, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing, utilities, mining, logistics or another operationally complex environment where frontline workforces are central to business success.
    You'll bring:
    • Experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development or Capability Management.
    • Experience building capability frameworks, learning pathways and development programs.
    • Exposure to trade-based, technical, operational or frontline workforces.
    • Experience working with leaders to develop leadership capability and management effectiveness.
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
    • This role may also suit HR Business Partners looking beyond traditional BP roles.
