  • About the Organisation:

Our client is a highly regarded global organisation with a strong reputation for innovation, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Employing people across multiple international markets, the business operates within a complex and collaborative matrix environment and is investing significantly in people capability, leadership development, modern ways of working, and the overall employee experience.

The organisation is investing in building more sophisticated internal learning and capability programs and initiatives to establish practical, scalable learning solutions that directly support building capability, leadership, and business skills and performance.

    About the Role:

Reporting into a senior People Experience and Talent leader, this newly shaped position offers a rare opportunity to build foundational learning capability practices from the ground up. Operating as an independent consultant, you will assess current organisational capability requirements, develop a contemporary learning framework, and deliver practical solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

This role will partner closely with senior leaders, people managers, HR professionals, outsourced consultants, and subject matter experts across a geographically dispersed workforce. Success will require a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, with a strong focus on creating engaging and scalable learning experiences.

    Key responsibilities will include:
    • Conducting learning needs analysis, training needs assessments, and broader organisational capability reviews.
    • Designing and implementing practical learning strategies aligned to organisational priorities and workforce capability requirements.
    • Developing leadership, management, professional skills, and organisational capability programs.
    • Facilitating workshops, leadership sessions, and learning interventions across diverse stakeholder groups.
    • Supporting the organisation's AI capability uplift through education, capability development, and adoption initiatives.
    • Creating scalable learning resources, frameworks, and tools that can be leveraged globally.
    • Partnering with senior stakeholders to identify capability gaps and develop targeted learning solutions.
    • Providing recommendations on future learning operating models, governance, and capability infrastructure.
    • Managing learning projects from concept through to implementation and evaluation.
    • Collaborating with HR and Talent teams to support performance, talent, succession, and capability initiatives.
    About You:

You are an experienced Learning and Development, Organisational Development, Talent, Capability, or HR professional who thrives in environments where you can create structure, influence stakeholders, and build capability from the ground up. You bring a strong consulting mindset and are comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing strategic priorities with practical execution, and adjusting your approach as organisational needs evolve. Equally confident in the boardroom and the training room, you build credibility quickly and are recognised for your ability to influence, engage, and deliver outcomes.

To be successful, you will bring:
    • Strong in-house specialist experience across Learning and Development, Organisational Development, Talent, Capability, or related people disciplines.
    • Demonstrated success operating autonomously within greenfield L&D functions, setting up frameworks and foundations from scratch in an established medium commercial, corporate environment.
    • Strong expertise in learning needs analysis, capability assessment, and learning design methodologies.
    • Proven experience designing and facilitating leadership, management, and professional development programs.
    • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability across executive and leadership populations.
    • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end learning solutions.
    • Experience working within complex, matrixed, and geographically dispersed organisations.
    • Exposure to performance management, talent development, and organisational capability initiatives.
    • An understanding of AI technologies and workplace applications that support capability uplift and adoption.
    • Experience working with learning technologies, HR systems, and learning management platforms.
    • Experience facilitating and delivering corporate training.
    • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, Learning and Development, Education, Business, or a related discipline.
    Additional Requirements/Benefits:
    • Flexible hybrid working arrangement with access to modern Sydney offices.
    • Initial engagement of approximately 3 days per week with flexibility to scale based on work demand.
    • Rare opportunity to establish and shape a learning function from inception.
    • Exposure to senior global stakeholders and complex international workforce challenges.
    • High levels of autonomy, ownership, and influence.
    • Potential pathway to a longer-term consulting engagement or permanent appointment subject to organisational requirements.
    • Supportive, collaborative, and high-performing culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
    Why Apply?

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced learning and capability professional seeking meaningful impact and the chance to leave a lasting legacy. Rather than inheriting an established framework, you will have the opportunity to assess organisational needs, shape capability strategy, implement practical learning solutions, and influence the future direction of learning across a globally recognised organisation.

If you enjoy operating at both strategic and operational levels, partnering with senior stakeholders, and building capability that delivers real business outcomes, this role offers a unique platform to showcase your expertise.
