  • Immediate start for the right candidate
  • Olympic Park. Heavy industry (blue & white collar)
  • About the Organisation:

Our client is a well-known, global, market leading commercial organisation within the heavy industry & industrial sector, providing critical solutions and services to major resources customers across Australia. With around 250 employees and multi-site branches nationally.

The organisation has strong market presence and revenue, with a growing focus on strengthening its people, culture, and governance frameworks. While policies and systems are evolving, there is a genuine commitment to building more robust HR foundations and partnering closely with leaders to support their teams through growth, change, and operational demands.

    About the Role:

This is a hands-on People & Culture Business Partner opportunity, supporting a national workforce through the end of year period while the senior Head of HR leader and key HR colleagures are on leave.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will partner with managers and employees across corporate and branch locations, providing practical HR advice and managing day-to-day HR operations. You’ll work in a small close knit HR team and play a stabilising role while the team navigates some moving parts and gets some clarity on the road map ahead.

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Acting as a trusted HR generalist and first point of contact for managers across ER, performance and day-to-day people issues.
    • Managing core HR processes across the full employee lifecycle – contracts, onboarding, probation reviews, changes, exits and associated documentation.
    • Providing pragmatic advice on employment relations matters, grievances, investigations and performance conversations, with support from the HR Manager where needed.
    • Ensuring compliance with legislation and internal procedures while applying sound judgement and common sense in areas where policies are still maturing.
    • Partnering closely with supervisors, leading hands and managers in both blue collar and white collar environments.
    • Supporting HR data integrity and documentation as systems and HR frameworks continue to be developed.
    About You:

You are an experienced HR generalist or HR Business Partner who is comfortable working in a busy, operational environment and supporting both blue collar and white collar employees. You’ll bring:
    • Solid generalist HR experience across the employee lifecycle (Senior HR Advisor/HRBP level).
    • Background in mixed blue/white collar environments.
    • Confidence managing ER matters, performance issues, investigations and day-to-day people matters.
    • Ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions and apply practical judgement of matters, through to resolution.
    • Comfort operating in complex multi-site environments, working within ambiguity.
    • Strong senior leadership stakeholder skills, with the ability to coach and support managers and supervisors.
You’re likely someone who enjoys being the steady pair of hands: calm under pressure, commercially aware, and focused on helping the business run smoothly during a critical period.

    Additional Requirements/Benefits:
    • Sydney Olympic Park location with parking on-site
    • Opportunity to be considered for a future permanent role if there is strong mutual fit.
    • This is a full on-site position.
    Why Apply?

This is a rare chance to step into a pivotal HR role where you’ll make a tangible difference over a short period of time. You’ll be partnering closely with leaders and supporting a national workforce in an environment where your judgement, pragmatism and experience will be genuinely valued.

For the right person, this contract also offers visibility and potential pathways into a longer-term opportunity.
