Our client is a well-known, global, market-leading commercial organisation within the heavy industry & industrial sector, providing critical solutions and services to major resources customers across Australia. With a large global headcount and presence, but you will specifically be working within a smaller brand of around 250 employees across multi-site branches nationally.
About the Role:
This is a hands-on People & Culture Business Partner opportunity, supporting a national workforce reporting to the Head of HR, working alongside a HR Business Partner, supported by a shared HR coordinator.
You will partner with managers and employees across corporate and branch locations, providing practical HR advice and managing day-to-day HR operations whilst working on a range of HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

You are an experienced HR generalist or HR Business Partner who is comfortable working in a close-knit HR team in a broad, hands-on, busy, operational environment.

You will partner with managers and employees across corporate and branch locations, providing practical HR advice and managing day-to-day HR operations whilst working on a range of HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a trusted HR generalist and first point of contact for managers across ER, performance and day-to-day people issues.
- Managing core HR processes across the full employee lifecycle – contracts, onboarding, probation reviews, changes, exits and associated documentation.
- Providing pragmatic advice on employment relations matters, grievances, investigations and performance conversations, with support from the HR Manager where needed.
- Ensuring compliance with legislation and internal procedures while applying sound judgement and common sense in areas where policies are still maturing.
- Partnering closely with supervisors, leading hands and managers in both blue-collar and white-collar environments.
- Supporting HR data integrity and documentation as systems and HR frameworks continue to be developed.
You are an experienced HR generalist or HR Business Partner who is comfortable working in a close-knit HR team in a broad, hands-on, busy, operational environment.
You’ll bring:
- Solid generalist HR experience across the employee lifecycle (Senior HR Advisor/HRBP level).
- Background in mixed blue/white collar environments.
- Confidence managing ER matters, performance issues, investigations and day-to-day people matters.
- Ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions and apply practical judgement of matters, through to resolution.
- Comfort operating in complex multi-site environments, working within ambiguity.
- Strong senior leadership stakeholder skills, with the ability to coach and support managers and supervisors.
