Lead organisation-wide change and cultural transformation with ACER, a globally respected leader in education research.
  • Shape the future of a respected global organisation
  • Work closely with executive leaders
  • Lead meaningful, organisation-wide change
  • The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is one of the world's leading education research organisations, with a proud history spanning more than 90 years. As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, ACER works at the forefront of educational research, assessment and evidence-based improvement, partnering with governments, education systems and institutions across Australia and globally.

With approximately 425 employees across Australia and international locations, ACER is undertaking a transformation to become an organisation that consistently delivers growth, innovation and impact at scale.  This means combining ACER’s world-leading assessment and research expertise with enterprise technology and the culture and capability required to strengthen organisational effectiveness.

Reporting to the newly appointed Chief People and Transformation Officer, the Senior Manager Organisational Development will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering ACER's culture and capability strategy and transformation roadmap. This is a rare opportunity to influence enterprise-wide outcomes by leading initiatives across organisation design, workforce strategy, leadership and team effectiveness, culture, capability development and organisational performance. Operating as both strategist and practitioner, you will partner with senior leaders across the organisation to design and embed scalable frameworks and programs that support ACER's future direction and enable high performance across a geographically diverse workforce.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded organisational development leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to delivery. You will bring deep expertise across multiple OD disciplines, a demonstrated track record of leading enterprise-wide transformation and organisational effectiveness initiatives, and the credibility to influence executives and senior stakeholders. Whether developed in a leading consultancy or an in-house environment (ideally both), your ability to diagnose complex organisational challenges, translate insights into practical solutions, and drive sustainable change will set you apart. A relevant postgraduate qualification and extensive experience operating at a senior level within complex organisations delivering culture change will be highly regarded.

If you are confident that your experience reflects the above criteria, please apply online quoting ref No.  4067672. Should you have any questions please contact Angela Horkings at angela@tandempartners.com.au
