Tandem Partners is partnering with a long‑established, privately owned industrial services organisation with a strong service culture and a reputation for technical excellence. They operate a well‑regarded Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and are now seeking a senior leader to transform their training function into a commercial, revenue‑generating business.

Your mandate is clear: lift capability and performance, strengthen the training offer, and grow external demand, while maintaining a premium training experience.
What you’ll be responsible for Lead and lift a technical training team

What you’ll be responsible for Lead and lift a technical training team
- Direct leadership of technical trainers (performance, development, utilisation, recruitment)
- Build capability so trainers can deliver high‑quality training and support customer engagement
- Oversee training delivered to internal stakeholders and external clients
- Improve trainer utilisation and the consistency of training quality
- Maintain and execute the training matrix; strengthen content and delivery standards
- Contribute to digital learning / content development
- Build and execute a go‑to‑market approach to grow external training demand
- Engage customers, collaborate with internal sales teams, respond to requests and proposals
- Develop new training offerings and take accountability for financial performance
- Oversee the full apprenticeship lifecycle: onboarding to completions
- Partner with TAFEs, apprenticeship services and internal stakeholders
- Maximise government funding opportunities and ensure compliance
- Maintain compliance with ASQA standards and lead audits/accreditation activity
- Improve systems, processes and the learner experience (including LMS / eLearning platforms)
- Proven success in business development (ideally training / technical / industrial services)
- Demonstrated ability to commercialise a function
- Experience leading technical trainers or instructional teams
- Strong, practical leadership, able to set standards, lift performance and build trust
- Confident stakeholder manager who can work cross‑functionally with sales and operations
- RTO / ASQA knowledge and compliance experience
- Trade qualification or technical background
- Exposure to instructional design and online learning platforms
- Genuine transformation brief with executive visibility and end‑to‑end ownership
- Strong base salary and hybrid working model - 4 Days onsite in Clayton
- The set up is mainly in place so this role will own the execution
