Our client is a large, complex organisation operating across multiple sites and business units. With safety at the centre of its people strategy, they are seeking an experienced WHS Manager to lead a capable team and partner with leaders to enhance safety performance, build leadership capability and support a proactive approach to workplace health and safety across the organisation.
About the Role
The WHS Manager will provide leadership to a team of safety professionals while partnering closely with operational and corporate leaders to drive a practical and proactive approach to health, safety and wellbeing.
Combining strategic oversight with hands-on involvement, you'll provide expert guidance on safety, risk and compliance matters, support operational decision-making and play a key role in improving safety performance and strengthening risk management practices across a complex and diverse workforce.
You'll be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping them navigate risk, strengthen accountability and deliver sustainable safety outcomes that support both employees and organisational performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of WH&S professionals
- Partner with leaders to drive safe, engaged and productive workplaces
- Provide expert advice across workplace health, safety, risk and wellbeing
- Oversee incident management, investigations and corrective actions
- Support the development, implementation and enhancement of WHS frameworks, policies and programs
- Influence and coach leaders to strengthen safety leadership capability
- Monitor and interpret safety data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Drive initiatives that enhance safety performance and organisational outcomes
- Contribute to business-wide projects, change initiatives and organisational priorities
- Build strong relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in a WH&S Manager, Senior Safety Business Partner or similar leadership role
- Proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders across all organisational levels
- Experience operating within a large, complex and unionised environment
- Strong working knowledge of contemporary WHS legislation, risk management and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills
- A pragmatic and commercially minded approach to problem solving
- Demonstrated experience leading, developing and mentoring safety teams
- Comfortable balancing strategic priorities with operational delivery
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Human Resources or a related discipline, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded
