Upcoming Legislative changes to

 Fixed Term Employment Contracts.

Matt Saitta & Georgia Hazell (Senior Consultants, Executive HR Interim & Contracting in Sydney) are joined by Sean Melbourne to discuss the upcoming legislative changes to fixed term employment contracts that will start on 6th December 2023. The changes are designed to prevent fixed term contracts from being used for more than two years and to limit the use of rolling fixed term contracts.

Sean has over 20 years’ experience as an employment lawyer. He is the Executive Director of Source Workplace and plays a management role in Source Legal. He spent the first 10 years of his career as a lawyer at Baker & McKenzie, practicing in employment law and commercial litigation. After a stint running a sole practice, he joined Source Legal as its first employment lawyer and has been building its workplace service ever since. They now have a full team of workplace lawyers, a team of human resources consultants and an employee relations service. They provide in-house style support under the Source model, which gives employers an easy way to access all of the legal, HR and employee relations support they need.
